It has been a Wacky Wednesday for sure--LOL. We had mass and the May Crowning from 8-10. Then we took the NWEA Language segment. Only one more to go! Needless to say, we did not switch for Science and Religion.
Stay safe this evening! Today's Work:
This week we are knocking out the final round of state testing. Today we did NWEA Math. Because of this, we didn't switch for Religion and Science.
May Crowning is tomorrow. They need to wear their Sunday Best clothes. They can bring their uniform and a pair of sneakers to change into. They must have sneakers for PE in the afternoon. Today's Work Math
*May Crowning: Dress in Sunday Best clothes. They have PE on Wednesday, so they should make sure they bring sneakers. They may also bring their uniform to change into after mass if they'd like.

Have a fabulous 3 day weekend and Derby Day! The 1st grade Thurby races were a hoot and a holler, as always! MStem was kind enough to bring in popsicles for the 4th grade.

Summer fever is setting in, but there's still work to be done, projects to be wrapped up, the last round of statewide testing, and more fun to be had! I'm doing my best to keep everyone on track.
*Reading Logs were sent home yesterday to be signed so that you could see their progress on entries 15-24. If a kiddo did not get their reading log signed, then they are under orders to show it to you tonight--LOL. **Please return Field Trip permission slips by 5/6. If you are planning on chaperoning, indicate that on the form. The $8 spots are going fast. After the first 20 chaperones, it goes up to $24. Today's Work Math:
4th Quarter Science Experiments: The kids will be asked to demonstrate a science experiment for the class in the month of May. Your child can work with a partner or individually. The demonstration DOES NOT NEED a display board. The experiment can be inside or outside the classroom. We have seen plenty of demonstrations in the field or parking lot. The things to remember are as follows: Tell the class what they are going to see; perform the experiment for the group; explain what happened; answer questions from the class; HAVE FUN!!! This should be a low stress project. The goal is for the kids to have fun researching and demonstrating an experiment for the class. Please see Steve Spangler and Sick Science on youtube or science websites for kids while searching for ideas. The kids should see me as soon as they find a topic and I will put it on the schedule. No duplicate experiments will be allowed in the classroom. The date for the experiments must be between May 6-17. I will need your child to notify me at least one day in advance when he/she is ready and I will schedule a time for us to see the demonstration the next day. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. It was a productive Monday. Also, please return Field Trip forms as soon as you are able. Thank you!
